52 Weeks of Thankfulness: Week 4, A Boy and His Pup

I continue Bernadette’s “52 Weeks of Thankfulness” at Haddon’s Musings, this week I’m reflecting on my little guy and our pup.  When you get these two together, it really is a sight. My little one would like nothing more than Boots to oblige his every whim. Boots would like nothing more than be paid in treats, specifically when he feels he’s followed a command. Being stuck in the house with these two energy bundles is like allowing two mini tornadoes to come plummeting through, so without a doubt…exploring our world is a must!

So if a boy and his dog could teach a lesson, what do you think they might share?

They might share to bundle them up with love. Please don’t fret at the mess, look past the paint on the table, and my accident near the door. I did my best, and I’m greeting you with a hug and happy kiss. Help me grow and see the world. Please don’t ever stop taking the time to help me explore. I want to learn everything about this world, and I love it when you show me the way.

So I’m keeping this short and letting my photos share my thankfulness. But don’t go away without sharing your thoughts on the question above. I would love to hear what you think the pair might teach us. For now, all the best and happy exploring!

  1. I think we could all learn from those two….We could learn that life is to be lived while we are here. Don’t just survive but live to the full. Jump in a few puddles, smell the flowers along the way, and make sure to smile at everyone you meet.

    1. So true! Okay I will let little guy jump in the puddles…lol. He does anyways, clearly living life to the fullest. One of the sweetest things he says lately is, “Mommy I love you forever.” Gets my heart every time. These two really are a treat. Boots is a little older and slowing down, but as you can see by the pictures he still perks up when we’re outdoors. 🙂

  2. Hi, I’m new here. Hope it’s ok to comment. I absolutely LOVE this post. The pictures are the sweetest. Maybe we could learn to savor the every-single-minutes from them. It looks like they do. 🙂

  3. There is nothing quite so sweet as the friendship between a pup and his/her kid. It’s good for the soul to have that contact and connection that no one else understands. Good for you encouraging this friendship. Also, I’m loving your 52 weeks of thankfulness. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing with us.

    1. Lol…yes Boots does look like a bit of a ham in that photo. He’s wearing a cape w/Batman print. My son attended a birthday party and the mom made each child a cape! So sweet I thought. My son’s guest are lucky if I manage to remember their gift bags of candy. Lol. 🙂
